Phyllis E. (Delcore) Hafemann

Phyllis E. Hafemann (nee Delcore), age 77, of the town of LeRoy, was called home to be with her Lord on Monday, July 13, 2015 in the comfort of her home with family by her side.

Phyllis was born on October 1, 1937 in Oconto, WI to the late Clarence and Gladys (nee Crozier) Delcore.  She was raised in West Bend and graduated from West Bend High School in 1956.  Later that summer, on August 25, 1956, Phyllis was united in marriage to Frederick Hafemann in Slinger, WI.  She was known for her cooking and worked as a chef for 25 years at several supper clubs and restaurants including The Golf Club at Camelot, the Retlaw Plaza Hotel, and the Freighthouse.  She also enjoyed volunteering at Richie’s Little Rascals where she helped prepare lunch for the children.  Phyllis loved going to the races and especially loved watching her son and grandson race.  She also enjoyed being a member of Christian Mothers.

Phyllis is survived by her loving husband, Frederick Hafemann; her seven children, Alan “Butchie” (Janet) Hafemann of Campbellsport, Daniel (Jackie) Hafemann of West Bend, Cynthia (Doug) Koch of Burnett, Frederick (Shirley) Hafemann Jr. of Brownsville, Mary (Mike) Greene of Brownsville, Linda (Steve) Buege of Juneau, and Richard Hafemann of Mayville; and six grandchildren, Billy Joe (Jenny) Hafemann of Waldo, Johnathan Hafemann of West Bend, Nickolas Buege of Juneau, Tyler Hafemann of Grand Junction, CO, Melanie Greene of Brownsville, and Dustin Hafemann of Fond du Lac.  She is further survived by a sister, Karen (Edward) Bergman; two brothers, Wayne (Carol) Delcore and Henry (Nancy) Delcore; her uncle, Lee Crozier; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Gladys Delcore; her parents-in-law, August and Lorraine Hafemann; two sisters, Shirley Fischer and Cheryl Adams; her brother, Ronnie Delcore; and many other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Phyllis will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 6:00 pm at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy with Father Tom Biersack officiating.  Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 3:00 pm until the time of mass at 6:00 pm.  Burial will be in Slinger Union Cemetery on Saturday at 10:00 am. 

In Lieu of flowers, memorials to the Herma Heart Foundation at Children’s Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family.
