Kenneth L. Troedel, 85, of West Bend, entered Eternal Life on Monday, January 25, 2016 at The Kathy Hospice.
He was born on July 2, 1930 in the town of Barton to the late Bert and Marie (nee Worf) Troedel. On June 6, 1959 he was united in marriage to Gladys “Pat” Kolkema at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend. Gladys passed away on April 13, 2015.
Ken worked at Lochen Ford for several years and then worked at West Bend Equipment for many years until his retirement. He was an active member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend. Ken was interested in local history and liked to attend Barton Historical Society meetings. He enjoyed traveling and for 15 years spent winters in South Padre Island, Texas. He also enjoyed boating and fishing. Ken loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and going to their baseball games to watch them play.
He is survived by three children, Chris (Michael) Leverance, Kenneth (Diane) Troedel, and James Troedel; two step-children, James Rick and John Rick; eight grandchildren, Mike (Carrie) Leverance, Katie Steltz, Matthew Leverance, Natasha Troedel, Andrew Troedel, Aaron Troedel, Adam Troedel, and Samantha Rick; two brothers, Eugene Troedel and Jerry (Sandy) Troedel; seven sisters-in-law, Betty (Eugene) Thelen, Mary Barsch, Donna Timmerman, Joyce (Ken) Endlich, Kathy Bakes, Dorothy (Gary) Kittel, and Sandra (Roger) Mayhew; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service in remembrance of Ken will be held on Saturday, January 30 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Ave., West Bend. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Ken’s cremated remains will be buried at Washington County Memorial Park in the spring.
