Earl H. Heider, Sr

Earl H. Heider, Sr., 85, of rural Campbellsport, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2010, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.


He was born on May 7, 1925, in the town of Barton, the son of the late William and Melinda (Engleiter) Heider, and on August 2, 1952, he was united in marriage to Marie Meyer.


The couple farmed near Ashford and Campbellsport. Earl was a milk hauler and was employed by the Gehl Company in West Bend for over 30 years, where he was a member of the Hexelbank Club. Upon retiring, they built their own homes and moved to Rollingstone Lake where he was chairman of Rollingstone Lake P & R District. He was also chairman of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pickerel. Earl and Marie moved back to Campbellsport after having many health problems.


Earl was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in New Fane and was the secretary for the Kewaskum Sno Chiefs for many years.


Those Earl leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 58 years, Marie; five children, Jeanne (Robert) Schairer of Campbellsport, Donald (Cyndi) Heider of Sturgeon Bay, Diane Shreves of Kewaskum, Earl (Kim) Heider, Jr. of Algoma and Richard (Kathy) Heider of Fond du Lac; a brother, Leroy (Romilda) Heider of West Bend; a sister, Lucille Kurth of West Bend, 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.


In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by two grandsons, Robert Schairer, Jr. and Adam Shreves and a brother-in-law, Wallace Kurth.


Funeral services for Earl were held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 1, 2010, at St. John Lutheran Church, N665 Highway S, Kewaskum (New Fane). Rev. Mark Eckert officiated and burial was at 10:00 a.m. on Monday in Lutheran Memorial Park in Kewaskum.


Relatives and friends called at the church on Sunday from noon until the time of services.
