Message from Joel & Lisa Herriges
March 10, 2007 7:28 PM
Dear Marie, Dick, Dave and families: Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of you. We feel so fortunate to have known Cy for the time we did. His laugh, smile and funny stories will always be a part of the fond memories of Cy. I have so many memories of the times at the Wietor house. In the basement playing pool, hitting the punching bag or enjoying the fireworks on the front lawn. Cy was always there with laugh and a story. We always thought Cy was so lucky--always winning a pool or a raffle. He spread his luck to me one time. Back when I was 12 or 13, Cy entered me into a contest to win Superbowl tickets. I didn't win the tickets, but I did win a very nice football. When I found out he had entered me into the contest, I thanked him. He told me, that had I won the tickets, I would have been taking HIM to the Superbowl. I was so proud to have him as my uncle. He was such a great guy and was fun to be around. It was so nice to grow up around him and then enjoy his company when I became an adult. He will be deeply missed. I am so sorry we could not be there with you. I really wanted to say goodbye to my uncle and friend. I know the golf courses in Heaven will fit your game to a T. God Bless you Uncle Cy. Joel, Lisa, Zach, Danny and Sam
