Mike and Marcia lived in Browns Mills NJ during the period Mike was stationed at Ft. Dix, New Jersey. Mike was watch NCO at the Ft. Dix stockade in those days (1972-73). His gregarious personality loomed larger than he and Mike was welcome into everyone's life including mine. It was a sad day for me and my family when Mike & Marcia moved back home but Mike was anxious to return to a "way" of life from which he had been away for far too long. Your video of still photos captures his very essence and his life's happy moments. To his wonderful wife Marcia and his children Brian and Lisa and grandchildren - may your many happy memories bring you comfort and joy in the days and months ahead. It's been 46 years, yet I remember him and you Marcia as though it was yesterday. Please accept my deepest and heartfelt sympathy.

Marsha & Family. Joyce & I are sol happy that we got to see Mike and most of the Norskog family in October .When Kenton called me on Friday it was a total surprise just as for all of you that Mike had passed away. You picked a very special man there, however our Lord God Jesus Christ needed Mike more! The memories you have and the family you and Mike started that what will keep you going. This family tradition of celebrating birthdays till 18 with all family showing up blew my mind. What a Tradition. All 5 of the Norskogs cousins and extended family in Wisconsin are very Special to the Bratland's. Love & Condolences! Randy

Marcia and family,
I am very sorry to hear of Mike's passing. It caught me by surprise as he was a beloved friend all through school and after. I will miss his short visits when I came home to see my parents. He was so kind to my parents checking in on them periodically and a dedicated mentor to my sister Susie. A true friend of our entire family. Please remember that God's gift is eternal life.....he will always be near. Prayers, Judy

To Marcia, Val, & the entire Smith family,

To many, Mike was referred to as Mike the Mailman. For me, he was 'Mike, the Northern Pike'. In my youth when we'd swim in the river near the damn, where the raft used to be anchored, getting to the raft was always 'challenging' when Mike was there. He'd dive off the raft & approach his 'targets' from beneath the water, pulling us under before we could get to the raft. Once there, we were safe. Getting there was both scary and fun because of our friend, Mike, the Northern Pike. He left a lasting & pleasant memory in my youth, one never forgotten.

Our sympathies to you for your loss at this time. Mike was special and he will be missed...

For all of Mike's family, I wish for you to have his smile always in your heart. He always wore the very best smile whether he really felt it or not. God knows how much he loves his family by the way he spoke of them, he was never bashful to tell a family story. And I loved each one. I will miss him, but will never forget him or his kindness.
