Bonnie, so sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of Bob and the hours we spent at the Lounge. Those fun times are gone forever. I'd like to send my condolences to his sister Diane also. I grew up with the McDermotts in Butler and remember when she and Terry were dating.

I haven't seen Bob in years, but he touched my life in such a positive way. He will never be forgotten. I remember coming to Wis. from Colo. for a visit and I had painted Bob a saw. He was so suprised and I got the biggest hug from him, and I introduced him to my future husband and the kind words he said to him about me was very touching.

Bonnie,

I was shocked to hear the news of Bob's (AKA "Gramps/Grandpa's") passing. Bob was a great man and loved by so many. There was rarely a time in the 20+ years that I've known him that he wasn't laughing or making someone laugh. There was always a laugh, a smile, a joke, a perverted but joking innuendo or a funny story associated with Bob. Thinking back on all the memories from Beginning's, the Lounge, working for him, a few visits up north, I am proud to call him my friend.

The last time I saw him, although it was a few years ago, I remember him stating, "No matter how long it's been that we've seen each other, we'll always be friends." Rest assured, many people were comforted by words like these. Bob had a caring heart and brought me and many people through some tough times in our lives. Sometimes his comments were comforting, sometimes he just bought you a drink to calm you down and sometimes he straight up told you how it was. Rest assured, we all knew that he was our friend and we'll miss him dearly. If there is anything we can do for you Bonnie, please just call. Jeanne & Tom Bonlender

Been several years since last seen my “Uncle Bob” but still many fond memories of him growing up as kid. Always seen him as my "Coolest Uncle" with no loss for words and stories just like my Grandmother. No disrespect to my Dad but anyone knows me well heard me say I’m more like a Neumann than a Mc Dermott. Guess why for many reasons I've liked to think often I'm like my Uncle Bob. Say Hello to my Grandparents as they are missed as you will be. “May the road rise up to meet you. Say “Hello” to my Grandparents as they are missed as you will be. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.”

Our sympathy Bonnie. We have great memories over the years of Bob. He and Bob worked together at A & P. Bob found our home on Silver Lake where we lived for many years. Always with a witty comment and bright smile, Bob was a bright light to those who knew him. Sending prayers your way.

Bonnie, my deepest sympathy goes out to you during this difficult time. I'm glad I stayed with Bob up in Pickerel for snowmobiling a while back. As usual we had a great time laughing and talking about all of the crazy things we used to do. I know I will miss his laugh and joke telling. Again, my thoughts are with you.
