I am so sorry to here about Mrs. Moe's passing :( she was Mrs. Backhaus when she was my teacher. She helped me through so much. The summer before school started I was mauled in the face from a friend's dog. I was so embarrassed by my face all scarred uo she wrapped her arms around me and said I was the prettiest girl she has ever seen. I was her pet ;) I really wish I would have known she was ill. I would of liked to tell her again what she did for me. She will forever be in my heart. God Blesz!!

My sympathy to Jeanne's children and their families. I remember a sweet lady who lived on the River Road, who always enjoyed a quick chat when you walked past. May all your wonderful memories help you as you mourn. Lord's blessings to you all.

Heaven shouted a big hello to one of the most lovely ladies ever seen in Kewaskum. Always a smile and a hello, I hope that some of us can follow in her tracks. But God only made a few that can fill those footprints. Blessings to the family.

In 1965, 'Mrs. Backhaus' was my 2nd grade teacher. I still have the Papoose (annual) from that year. I recall with great fondness all of my elementary teachers. Each were instrumental in making sure all educational experiences were positive. Admittedly however, Mrs. Backhaus stood out. She embodied class and style, with a genuine ability to communicate and teach in enduring ways, always with a smile. She was my favorite and remained as such, even until today. As I found out later in life, she was a favorite of my family as well, specifically with my Mother Dolly. Mrs. Backhaus was generous with her time and always considerate of others, especially in their time of need. She was old school with her values on discipline and respect, never short on offering an independent opinion when asked. The goodness she embodied in life will be missed, as she will be missed. Thank you Jeanne for making a difference in my life. It was an honor and a pleasure to have known you, never forgotten. Thoughts and prayers are with the family...

What a lovely lady! I was among the fortunate to have had her as my 7th and 8th grade
teacher just before Jody was born. Late that summer several of us girls walked to her lovely
home to see the new baby.. sound asleep in her crib.
On my desk are two sympathy cards she sent to our family and to me when Dad, Ray Schaefer, passed away 2014. The messages were very thoughtful and her Penmanship...
outstanding. It's worth me saving the envelope!
Thank you, Jeanne, for being in my life.
