Bernice was one of my favorite aunts until I got out of high school. After that she was one of my favorite cousins. I always looked forward to spending time with Bernice and Lucy - they spent lots of weekends at our house!! A few weeks after graduation, they took my best friend and me along out west, and a few years later I went on my first cruise with them. Bernice was like a teenage girl on those trips - so excited about everything! I have so many wonderful memories of her, and I will miss her dearly.

We will miss Bernice at our Wisconsin Marine Historical Society events and want to offer our deepest sympathy to her family and friends. We always felt that she was a loyal member of our WMHS family as well and cherished her friendship.

Bernice was an exceptionally good friend and former (10 year) room-mate. She was my maid-of-honor at our wedding. She was more like a sister to me than a friend. Bernice had many interests & loved to have a good time. We had a lot of travels together, i.e., houseboat, Green Bay Packer games, Jackson Hole, WY, etc. She was a lady that always put everyone else first. We 'shared' our families in visits, events, etc. I've got only fond memories of our friendship. Til we meet again...love & peace. Sarah
