Audrey M (Brendelson) Shanovich

May 19, 1931 ~ January 10, 2017 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Audrey M. Shanovich, 85, of West Bend, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at her home.

Audrey was born on May 19, 1931. She was the eleventh child of Clarence and Caroline (Lumree) Brendelson. Audrey had six brothers and five sisters and grew up as a tom boy in West Allis.  She loved to play touch football and baseball. Audrey graduated at the age of 17 from Nathan Hale High School in West Allis on January 19, 1949. On November 10, 1951, she was united in marriage to Matthew Shanovich. They’ve been married for 65 wonderful years. She was employed by Continental Can Company for many years and also was the secretary at the Washington County Senior Center in West Bend. Audrey took care of many people and babysat many children during her lifetime. She was a very nurturing person.

Those Audrey leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Matthew; four children, Joseph (Vicki) Shanovich, Paul (Lisa) Shanovich, Carol (Dean) Pok and Peter Shanovich; twelve grandchildren, Amy, Lisa, Katie and Matthew are the children of Joseph and Vicki Shanovich, Amanda and Adam, are the children of Paul and Lisa Shanovich, Grace, Jim, Clair, are the children of Carol and Dean Pok, and Hailey, Jake and Spencer, are the children of Peter and Kelly Shanovich; three great grandchildren, Tyler, the son of Lisa Shanovich and Annie and Archie Mueller, children of Amy Mueller; a sister, Arlene Comfort; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by 10 siblings.

Funeral services for Audrey will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2017, at the Kingdom Hall, 6823 Wildwood Road, in West Bend.

Audrey’s family will greet relatives and friends at Kingdom Hall on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m.

Grandma Audrey said, the best things, she and grandpa passed on to all of her family, was a good sense of humor, respect for other people’s rights, and thoughtfulness towards others. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
