Richard "Dick" Wilfred Cochenet

March 5, 1943 ~ December 9, 2017 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Richard “Dick” W. Cochenet, 74, of Kewaskum, entered eternal life on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Dick was born on March 5, 1943, in Milwaukee, the son of late Wilfred and Ethel (nee Jackson) Cochenet and on October 19, 1963, he was united in marriage to Alice Rehbein at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.  Dick and Alice moved to Kewaskum in 1977 and have been residents ever since.

Dick worked as a maintenance man for Badger Meter in Brown Deer for 40 years.  He loved being an outdoorsman and spending time at his and Alice’s cabin in Pembine.  Dick’s time there included hunting, atving, and especially fishing.  He was also a certified scuba diver.  Dick’s greatest joys came from spending time with his family, friends, and hunting buddies.

Those Dick leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 54 years, Alice; two children, Thomas R. (Marci) Cochenet of Eden and Linda (Russell) Warnecke of Campbellsport; nine grandchildren, Travis Cochenet, Amanda Cochenet, Tyler Cochenet, Leea Cochenet, Dylan Cochenet, Tanner Lauters, Kolton Lauters, Brett Lauters, and Stephanie Lauters; three step-grandchildren, Alicia White, Sienna Warnecke, and Wyatt Warnecke; nine great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; a brother, Ronald (Kathy) Cochenet of Eden; three sisters-in-law, Marian McEvoy of West Bend, Bernice (Lewis) Towns of Mequon, and Ellen (Mike) Olson of West Bend; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Ann) Rehbein of Waupaca and Terry Kielar of Green Bay; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law Eugene Rehbein, Herman (Sandra) Rehbein, and Roger McEvoy; a sister-in-law Diane Kielar and his parents-in-law, Herman and Leona Rehbein.

A funeral service for Dick will be held at Noon on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1417 Parkview Drive in Kewaskum.  Rev. Timothy Henning will officiate and burial will follow at Lutheran Memorial Park in Kewaskum.

The Cochenet family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Judes or the Washington County Human Society are appreciated.

The Cochenet family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Cedar Community Hospice and Dr. Michael Mosley for the wonderful care they provided to Dick.
