Susan "Sue" Erste

Susan “Sue” Erste (Bartz) passed away peacefully on June 2, 2023.

Sue was born to Edward and Maria Bartz on May 3, 1963. Sue married Joseph Erste IV, on July 16, 1983, sharing just shy of 40 years together. They built a loving life with their four children, Amanda, Alyssa, Angela, and Joseph V.  Sue loved being a grandma and spending time with Caylee, McCartney, Aviana, and Jack, her genuine pride and joy.

Sue will be forever missed for her warm presence, kind hospitality, and loving heart, but also for her cheesecakes made with lots of love, and her taco dips, which were a hit at any gathering she attended.

She leaves behind her husband Joe; children, Amanda, Alyssa, Angela (Michael) Gales, Joey (Natalie); and grandchildren, Caylee, McCartney, Aviana, and Jack. Sue will also be missed by her father, Edward; her siblings, Lisa, Tim (Brenda), Tom (Heather); her in-laws, John, Maria (Jeff) Raedel, Patti (Jeff) Grundy, Jenni (John) Vojticek, Jim (Kara) & Sarah; along with her many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Sue is preceded in death by her mother, Maria Bartz; her father and mother-in-law, Joseph III & Mary Erste; and her grandparents.

Family and friends may visit the Chapel of St. Therese at Holy Hill, 1525 Carmel Rd, Hubertus, WI, on Friday, June 16, from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. A prayer service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday.
