Robert J. Ziemer

Robert J. Ziemer, age 55 years, of West Bend was called home to be with the Lord unexpectedly at 4:14 am on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at his home, with his wife, Tammie by his side.

Robert was born on November 3, 1963 in Milwaukee to Walter and Rose Ziemer  (Pietrangelo).  He was united in marriage to Tammie Land on October 23, 2006.

Robert attended Custer High School in Milwaukee.  He apprenticed at the Fox and Hound Restaurant where he became a 5-Star Chef.  Robert was named by restaurant critic, Dennis Getto, one of the best chefs in Southeastern Wisconsin. He helped with the electrical work during the remodel at Walmart in Greenfield, where he met Tammie.  Robert worked for Securitas Security Service for the Bloodcenter of Wisconsin, and then moved to West Bend and worked at the  Brazen Head Pub, George Webb, and Slinger House. “Diablo” will be truly missed by his friends and co-workes at the McDonald’s on Main Street in West Bend.

Those Robert leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Tammie of 12 years; and their two children, Rose and April; his daughter, Elizabeth (from previous marriage with Clare); four siblings, David (Gwen), Mary (Mike) Laabs, Richard (Kim) and Lisa (Ben) Olson.  He is further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and pets.

In addition to his parents, Walter and Rose; Robert was preceded in death by his infant brother.

Memorial Service for Robert will be held at 6 pm on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Layton Avenue Baptist Church (9600 W Layton Ave – Greenfield, WI  53228) with Pastor Keith Cogburn officiating.

Robert’s family will greet relatives and friends at Church on Tuesday from 4 pm until the time of service.

Robert’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the West Bend Fire and Police Departments and St. Joseph Hospital in West Bend for the loving care they provided.
