Myrtle Kumrow Obituary

Myrtle E. Kumrow (nee Lueke), age 83 years, of Random Lake was called home to be with the Lord on August 22, 2018 at Aurora Medical Center Grafton.

Myrtle was born on February 21, 1935 in Sheboygan County to Walter and Clara Lueke  (nee Klabuhn).  She was united in marriage to Vernon O. Kumrow on August 21, 1954 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the Town of Scott.

Myrtle was a graduate of Random Lake High School. After high school she worked for K & W Mutual Insurance and also A & K Catering. Later, Myrtle operated Kumrow’s Mink Ranch for many years with Vernon. She was a 4-H leader for over 50 years and enjoyed raising poultry and rabbits.  Myrtle always inspired and encouraged 4-H members that she workedwith to do their best.

Myrtle was the Poultry Superintendent at the Sheboygan County Fair for many years.  She was very instrumental in establishing the Blue-Ribbon Small Animal Auction, that is held yearly at the Sheboygan County Fair. Myrtle volunteered at Valley Manor Nursing Home and Rocky Knoll Nursing Home, both in Plymouth.  She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and was a Youth Group Leader at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Town of Scott.  Myrtle was also a member of the Ladies Evening Guild.

Those Myrtle leaves behind to cherish her memory include her 3 children, Violet (Daniel) Pfeifer, Gerald (Cheri) Kumrow, and Susan (Tony) Deheck; 5 grandchildren, Heather Pfeifer, Jade Pfeifer, Gary Kumrow, Katie Deheck and Sarah Deheck.  Further survived by sister-in-law, Joyce Butler; brother-in-law, Ivan (Janet) Kumrow; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

In addition to her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; and brother-in-law, Jerome (Geraldine) Kumrow and Richard “Butch” Butler.

Private funeral service was held on August 25, 2018.  Interment at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in the Town of Scott.
