Obituary

Melvin “Mel” W. Laudolff, 81, of Slinger passed away peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2022, at his home with his family by his side.

He was born on June 18, 1940, to the late Theodore and Helen (nee Wagner) Laudolff in Fond du Lac. Mel graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac. On August 18, 1969, he was united in marriage to Katherine Neuestdter. Mel honorably served in the United States Army. Mel started The Lions Den (now known as Transitions of Wisconsin) in 1965 as a Hair replacement company specializing in correcting thinning hair issues, which he has assisted thousands of people in the last 57 years in business.  In 1990 Mel with a few of his friends in the industry started Transitions International which was a company to bring other hair replacement experts together and to this day it is still in operation with over 55 clinics worldwide assisting in education, marketing, and training in the field of hair restoration. He will be greatly missed by his loving and loyal staff and clients.

Mel also enjoyed going to his cabin in northern Wisconsin where he would boat, ride ATVs and spend time with the many friends he had made over the years.  One of the most enjoyable moments in his life was spending time with his daughter Tracy as they traveled to many locations in Europe, Panama, and all around the United States with friends.

Those Mel leaves behind to cherish his memory include his two children, John Laudolff and Tracy Laudolff; two grandchildren, Kealani “Kea” Laudolff and Nani Laudolff; sister, Carole (Allen) Smasal; other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Laudolff.
