Mary Jane Starr Obituary

Mary Jane Starr, 81, of West Bend, passed away at her home on Sunday, January 14, 2024.

 

Mary Jane was born on October 25, 1942, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (nee Wagner) Felder. On June 1, 1963, she was united in marriage to James Starr at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richfield. James preceded Mary Jane on August 22, 2008. Gardening, birdwatching, card games (cribbage in particular), and travelling were some of Mary Jane’s hobbies.

 

Those Mary Jane leaves behind to cherish her memory include four children, Daniel Starr (fiancée, Jacalyn Gaulke) of Hartford, Timothy (Sandy) Starr of Campbellsport, Sharon (Ronald) Schmit of West Bend, and Donna Starr of West Bend; five grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Christopher, Alexander, and Sarah; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Wolff of Jackson; two brothers, Clarence Felder of Ashippun and Michael (Kathy) Felder of Hubertus; a stepbrother, Ronald Nemec of Hartford; a sister-in-law, Jean Larsen of Hartland; other relatives and friends.

 

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn (Orville) Day; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth "Betty" (John) Smith and Jean Felder; two brothers-in-law, Howard Larsen and Willard Wolff; her stepdad, Michael Nemec; and her mother and father-in-law, Armond and Sybilla (nee Goetz) Starr.

 

VISITATION: Mary Jane’s family will greet relatives and friends at Myrhum – Patten Funeral & Cremation Service, 1315 W. Washington Street, in West Bend, on Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m.

 

SERVICE: A service for Mary Jane will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.

 

The family would like to thank Horizon Hospice nurses and Jacalyn Gaulke for their care and compassion they provided to Mary Jane.
