Margaret Olwig Obituary

Margaret Olwig (nee Narr), 89, passed away on January 5, 2021 due to complications from COVID19 at Froedtert Hospital in West Bend, WI.

Marge was born on July 1, 1931 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (nee Hepp) Narr. She went to Milwaukee public schools and in 1953, married George Olwig. They raised 4 sons before George passed away in 1999. She worked at Briggs and Stratton for 30 years before enjoying retirement.

Marge loved sitting in the sun with her friends and family, having a cold beer. She was an avid bowler, member of the German Club, enjoyed gambling and camping, and never missed a Packers game. Marge even went parasailing when she was 70 years old! She was a fearless woman with an infectious smile and contagious laugh. She made friends everywhere she went as she was so easy to love!

Marge is survived by her four sons, Ronald (Shelley) Olwig of West Bend, WI, Jeffrey (Diane) Olwig of Lacey, WA, Scott (Clair) Olwig of West Bend, WI, and Mark (Geniene) Olwig of South Milwaukee, WI; her eight grandchildren, Shawn Olwig, Shannon Hinkel, Cory Olwig, Dustin Olwig, Brandi Poggemann, Alexander Olwig, Andrew Olwig, and Thomas Olwig; and her nine great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her two sisters, Marilyn of Utah and Dorothy of California; brother, Frank of Canada; and many nieces, nephews, sisters & brother in-laws.

There will be no services at this time due to the COVID19 pandemic.  A celebration of life will be held during the summer of 2021 at a date to be determined.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Zoran Gajic for his years of medical services and advice (Mom loved you); Gail, RN, (with Dr. Gajic) who would always go out of her way to find answers for our questions and concerns; Dr. Christina Rutsch, for the excellent guidance, care, and reassurance during Mom’s last days and for always answering our calls and texts so quickly; the nursing staff at Froedtert Hospital of West Bend for being with Mom during her last moments and for giving her the tender care and comfort she deserved; the Samaritan Health Center for being Mom’s home for the past few years; and Myhrum-Patten Funeral Home for guidance.

Get those bowling strikes, the hole in one’s golfing, dancing the Polka with Dad & having a few beers in the Heavens. So much love for this incredible strong & extremely fun-loving woman. She will be so missed.
