He married Evelyn (nee Bodden) on February 12, 1955, and became a full-time dairy farmer. He also did carpenter work on the side. After his retirement from the farm, he worked for several years at Spiros Industries Inc. in Kohlsville. He is a past officer and honorary member of the Kohlsville Fire Department. He became father to five children: Joan Christian, Michael (Lucy) Martin, Helen (Richard Schneider) Martin, Anthony (Carolyn) Martin, and Lawrence (Charlotte) Martin. Lloyd has 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Also, special friends, Tom Schweiger, John Nettesheim, Pat Martin, and Jackie Martin and other relatives and friends.

Lloyd enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren playing baseball, volleyball, swimming, snowmobiling, and riding around the farm in the Ranger. He also enjoyed dancing, attending stock car racing, playing cards, country music concerts, sports, traveling and taking long walks to the woods with Cinnamon.
