Janet "Jan" M. (Gauerke) Dorsch

Janet “Jan” M. Dorsch (nee Gauerke), 86, entered Eternal Life on Friday, April 5, 2024.

She was born on October 12, 1937, to the late Harry and Emma (nee Riehle) Gauerke in Wausau, WI. Jan graduated from Wittenburg High School in 1955. On September 5, 1959, she was united in marriage to Frederick “Rick” Dorsch in Wittenburg, WI. She worked in bookkeeping for many years until retirement. Jan was a member of Community Church in West Bend and was a very active member. She enjoyed volunteering especially for Ruby’s Pantry and was part of the prayer team. Her favorite hobby was baking, especially her famous carrot cake, for special occasions for family and friends.

Jan loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters and great-granddaughter. She taught them lots of card games and Yahtzee.

Jan was a very special lady who really enjoyed people and socializing. She loved to help people and make them feel loved. She is going to be greatly missed.

Those Jan leaves behind to cherish her memory include her two children, John (Claudia) Dorsch and Sheri (James) Theep; four grandchildren, Samantha Germinaro, Belle (Vivek) Huang, Michelle Dorsch, and Rachel Dorsch; great-granddaughter, Emma Germinaro; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lifelong friend of Lynne Phillips.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband Frederick “Rick” Dorsch.

VISITATION: Jan’s family will greet relatives on and friends on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 11:00 until 12:00 p.m. at Community Church,  2005 S. Main St., West Bend.

SERVICE: A memorial service will follow the visitation at the church at 12:00 p.m. Private family burial.

Memorials in Jan’s name to The American Heart Association and Community Church are appreciated.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Hope Health & Rehab and St. Croix Hospice’s compassionate nurses Anna, Pam, Taylor, and Lindsay for all their help and care.
