Eugene "Gene" Dallapiazza

Eugene Victor “Gene” Dallapiazza, age 80 years, of the town of Ashford passed away peacefully on July 19, 2020 at Froedtert St. Joseph Hospital in West Bend surrounded by his loving family.

Gene was born on November 13, 1939 in Milwaukee to Joseph and Avrina Dallapiazza  (Onestinghel). He graduated from Messmer High School in 1958.   He was united in marriage to Janet Reimer on August 20, 1960 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Milwaukee.

Those Gene leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of almost 60 years, Janet; three children, Alissa (Otto) Christianson, Daniel Dallapiazza, and David (Heidi) Dallapiazza; and six grandchildren, Sophia and Molly Christianson, Hayden and Enzo Dallapiazza, and Camron and Conner Dallapiazza. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his brother, Ernest (Sonja) Dallapiazza and sister, Irene Lehman.

Gene and Janet along with their children started D&G Manufacturing in Eden, WI.

Gene’s lifelong passion was woodworking; both carving and furniture building, as well as vacationing with his family and friends in the Rocky Mountains, where he enjoyed camping, hiking, backpacking and horse packing, skiing and snowmobiling.  Eventually, Gene and his family purchased property and built a cabin in the foothills of the Wind River Range in western Wyoming.  He also built their current home in Ashford, WI.  Always a HARD worker, if it was worth building,  it was worth overbuilding.

Memorial Service for Gene will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Myrhum Patten Funeral Home (1315 W Washington St.  (Hwy 33) – West Bend, WI  53095). 

Gene’s family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 pm until the time of service.
