Carol M Blecher

December 25, 1935 ~ July 7, 2015 (age 79) 79 Years Old

   Carol M. Blecher "N9CMB", 79, of Green Bay, formally of West Bend, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Bornemann Nursing Home in Green Bay after a courageous 6 month battle with cancer.

   She was born on December 25, 1935, in Escanaba, Michigan, the daughter of the late Joseph and Justina (Wiebe) Reese, and on December 8, 1956, she was united in marriage to Willy R. Blecher in Milwaukee.  Willy preceded Carol in death on October 18, 2009.  Carol was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Green Bay.

   Carol graduated from Perkins High School in Perkins, Michigan, in 1953.  She worked at various jobs including an elevator operator for the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, a  switchboard operator for General Split Corp, Wesbar Stamping, Amity Leather, Samaritan Nursing Home, Tecumseh Products, Health Care Services and Bob Burke.  Carol lived in West Bend and Boltonville until retiring to travel full time with Willy.  Eventually they made Mission, Texas, their home base.  Carol stayed an avid Green Bay Packer fan no matter where her travels took her.  Her favorite pastime though was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She became a ham radio operator and was involved in many charity events and managed an RV Park in Texas.  Carol also belonged to many organizations including Good Sam, A.R.R.L., R.A.C.E.S., and E.A.R.T.H.

   Carol is survived by four children, Rosemarie (Larry) Gessner of Beechwood, Joanne (James) Lawrenz of Boltonville, Susan (Paul) Barber of Green Bay and Robert (Beth) Blecher of Campbellsport; 10 grandchildren, Lisa Stoffel, Craig Gessner, Michael (Traci) Lawrenz, Jonathon Lawrenz, Matthew (Miranda) Lawrenz, Joshua and Aimee Lawrenz, Melissa (Theo) Terrell, Jeffrey (Allison Marcks) Barber and Abbie Blecher; three step grandchildren, Valerie (Vladimir) Vega, Kyle Rieden and Rachel (Michael) Maziarka; 10 great-grandchildren and one future great-grandchild, Mason and Ella Stoffel, Dakota, Nathanial and James Lawrenz, Hayden and Bryson Lawrenz, Skylar Lawrenz, Dextor and Baby Terrell and Weston Barber; 3 sisters, Rosalie Gerlach, Junie Pearah and Betty Weissart; a brother-in-law Ronald (Susan)Blecher, many relatives and friends.

   In addition to her parents and husband of 52 years, Carol was preceded in death by a sister, two brothers, a granddaughter and four brothers-in-law.

   Memorial Services for Carol will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Miller Funeral Home, 215 Forest Avenue, in Kewaskum with Pastor John Bass officiating.

   Carol's family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.

   A memorial fund is being established for Carol.
