Ann Anderson Obituary

Ann “Billie” Priess Anderson, age 91 years, from St. Louis, Missouri was called home to be with the Lord on November 11, 2022.  She was surrounded by her loving family, friends and pastors at Cedar Lake Community in West Bend, Wisconsin at the time of her passing.

Billie was born on August 8th in 1931 to County Clerk Judge Alvin Vernice Bartelsmeyer and Adele Margaret (Priess) Bartelsmeyer.  Her father Alvin, nicknamed her “Billie” because he wanted to have a son. She graduated from Missouri University in Columbia, Missouri and taught grade school after graduation. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta social sorority and was chosen as Baseball Queen at Missouri University. Billie was united in marriage on June 6th 1953 to Thurman Clark Anderson, a former Lieutenant in the United States Air Force.

Billie was a lifelong member of Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Mequon and volunteered many years during the weekly services and in the church office. She also was a hospital volunteer for St. Mary’s Columbia Hospital in Mequon and, as part of the pink ladies, she greeted many hospital visitors from the lobby reception desk and participated in Meals on Wheels delivery.

Billie enjoyed playing Gin Rummy everyday with her husband Thurm and the year-end winner would be awarded the one-dollar prize. She was a dedicated wife, mother, aunt and grandmother and gave unconditional love to her family. Billie enjoyed hosting holiday meals and Packer game parties with her family. She was a very classy lady and always dressed to the nines daily in her favorite blazers.

Those Billie leaves behind to cherish her memory include:  James and Lynn Anderson, along with their sons Calvin and girlfriend Mitzi and Cameron and wife Elsa, and Kristy and Mark Wagner, along with their sons Zachery and Traeven.   She is further survived by her twin nephews Robert “Bart” Vasel and David Vasel, other relatives and life-long friends.

In addition to her parents, Billie was preceded in death by her husband Thurman Clark Anderson in 2011and her older sister Jean Adele Camille Vasel in 2007.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and loving staff at Cedar Bay Hospice and Cedar Community for their care and compassion. Also thank you to Crossroads Presbyterian Church pastoral staff, Memory Garden committee and parishioners for their prayers and support.
