Willard H. Peters
Willard “Will” H. Peters, age 92, of West Bend, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
He was born April 26, 1933, to Orrin and Lorraine Peters (née Aulenbacher) in the town of West Bend, Wisconsin. Will graduated from West Bend High School in 1950, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and earned a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1959.
He was united in marriage to Marlene Kunde on June 24, 1967, at Lake Park Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. They began their family in Milwaukee and moved to West Bend in 1969. Will practiced engineering for more than 35 years.
Will was a proud, lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher for many years. Marlene preceded him in death on January 20, 2013.
Will enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and cherished the time he spent with them.
Will’s kindness, generosity, and love for his family and friends will always remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His life stands as a testament to quiet service, steadfast faith, and devotion to those he loved.
Will’s love will carry on through his daughters, Heather Peters and Holly (Chad) Retzlaff; grandchildren, Haylen and Logan Retzlaff; sisters, Elaine (Al) Prost, and Audrey Yahr; numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Will is preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer Peters; son Craig Peters; brother Glenn Peters; sisters-and-brothers in-law Myra Peters, Allen Yahr, Vivian & Ray Wenrich, Joyce & Jim Sullivan, Alfred Kunde; and nephew Pat Sullivan.
Will’s family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church (809 S. Sixth Ave, West Bend, WI, 53095) with funeral service to follow at 3:30 p.m. Private burial at Washington County Memorial Park on Saturday April 11,2026.
