Susan Marie Krueger was born on November 30th, 1960, in Waupun, Wisconsin, a gentle gift to her parents, Orlin and Doris (nee Hoffman) Krueger. On that day, as Elvis's "Are You Lonesome Tonight" drifted through the airwaves and Gunsmoke flickered on the television, her arrival brought a quiet softness to the world, a new light kindling in the hearts of all who loved her.
Susan grew up on a quiet farm in Cambria, rooted in the gentle countryside where simplicity and love were the language of every day. Even as a child, she was a natural mother, selfless and generous, always giving to her siblings, a second mother with a big heart. Her kindness touched everyone she met, and caring for others came as easily as breathing. Later, she would quietly care for her uncle Russell, just as she had for her family, never seeking praise for her acts of love.
A country girl at heart, Susan graduated from Cambria-Friesland High School in 1978. She was known for her punctuality, hardworking nature, and unassuming orderliness, which made life feel peaceful and safe to those around her. In 1984, she welcomed her first son, Jason, wrapping him in a world of hugs and gentle kisses. Three years later, her daughter arrived, and Susan’s home grew even warmer.
Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joys. She made every occasion special, always remembering to give a card at just the right time, making others feel cherished. Susan found happiness in simple pleasures, gardening, tending to her flowers, and listening to the birds sing. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, where love was the secret ingredient in every dish, especially her famous potato soup.
Susan’s heart was big enough for all creatures, and her home was shared with cats, dogs, and even a pet skunk named Stink, each given names chosen from the heart.
In all the quiet ways that matter, Susan’s life was a blessing. She taught those who knew her that a simple life lived with love is indeed a beautiful life.
Susan is survived by her beloved companion, Tony May; her children, Jason (Kayla) Floeter and Jamie (Joe) Eick; her sister, Linda Krueger; her cherished grandchildren, Kenneth Fry and Paxton Floeter; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Orlin and Doris (nee Hoffman) Krueger; sister, Julie Krueger; both sets of grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.
