Richard Melvin Dittloff, 78, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
Richard “Dick” was born on October 22, 1947, in Milwaukee to the late Melvin and Josephine (nee Anderson) Dittloff. Dick proudly served his country in the Army. He was united in marriage to Nancy Hamilton on February 1, 1969. In his younger years, Dick enjoyed playing softball, hunting, fishing, bowling, and golfing. Dick was an avid sports fan, including the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, and NASCAR. Beyond his wife and children, Dick’s greatest joys in life were his grandkids and great-grandkids.
Those left to cherish Dick’s memory include his wife, Nancy Dittloff; children, Rick (Shelly), Mike, and Tracie (Brian) Biefeld; grandchildren, Brittany (Colton) St. Mary, Makaily, Justin, Brandon (Devin), Allie, Tristan Dittloff, and Dakota and Kassidie Biefeld; great-grandchildren, Turner and Hallie St. Mary, and Lachlan Dittloff. He is also survived by his sister Karen (Tom) Delfosse, his brother Bob (Pam) Dittloff, his in-laws, Don Bastian, Jean (Terry) Maier, Jim (Pat) Hamilton, John (Kitty) Hamilton, Bob Hamilton, Dave (Carol) Hamilton, Terry Hamilton, Sue (Nino) Gigliotti, Renee Hamilton (Rick Smith), Chris (Debbie) Hamilton, Steve (Bridget) Hamilton, Vicky (Zaun) Beene, and Gwendolyn (Jerry) Jumonville and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Dick is preceded in death by his sister Donna Bastain (nee Dittloff); parents-in-law Warren and Muriel Hamilton (nee Dondero); and brothers-in-law Jeff and Tim Hamilton.
Per Dick’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, please make any donations in Dick’s honor to a veteran’s charity of your choice.
