Phyllis B. Wendt (nee Zimmermann), 101, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Phyllis was born on October 17, 1924, in Oak Grove, Wisconsin, to the late Edward and Hilda Zimmermann (nee Nehls). Phyllis was united in marriage to Harold Wendt on May 7, 1949 in Juneau. Harold passed away on June 20, 1990. Phyllis was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she loved to bake for many occasions. She was an immaculate housekeeper and a masterful cook.

Phyllis proudly served the community of West Bend as a Crossing Guard for over 26 years. She also worked at Pauly Cheese Company, Libbey’s Lab, and Amity Leather as an Assistant Supervisor.

The family expresses thanks to the Pastors for their many visits to mom and their prayers. Along with the Ladies Aide at Good Shepherd, the West Bend Police Department, which gave Phyllis her joy of being a crossing guard, which she loved so very much.

Phyllis was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Those left to cherish Phyllis’s memory include her children, Dennis Wendt, Marcia Weber, Sheila Dippel, and Colin Wendt; grandchildren, Allisen Wendt, Stephanie Gundrum, Jeremie and Jesse Dippel; great-grandchildren, Spencer Gundrum, Issabella Gundrum, Jessica Dippel, and Jocelyn Dippel; other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Phyllis is preceded in death by her brother, Charles (Mary Ellen) Zimmermann; son-in-law, Roger Dippel.

VISITATION: Phyllis’ family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m., at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (777 S. Indiana Avenue, West Bend, WI).

MEMORIAL SERVICE: A memorial service for Phyllis will take place following visitation on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, with Reverend Robert Hein to officiate the service. Burial will follow at Washington County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of your choice are requested.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for the care and compassion that was given to Phyllis at Rocky Knoll Nursing Home. There are too many to thank, but we are forever thankful for your compassion.
