Norbert Lipenski passed away on July 15, 2026, at the age of 81, at home surrounded by family after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by the love of his life, Carol of 49 years; his children, Kristen (John) Wallace, Colleen (Andy) Loeffler, and Shawn Lipenski (Don Eggert); his grandchildren, Michael (Kathleen) Wallace, Jessica Wallace, Grace Loeffler, and Ellie (Justin) Wefel; and great-grandchildren, Lorelai, Keelan, River, Riley, Ilene, and Nolyn. He is further survived by two brothers, Kenneth and John, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Nobert was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Clara Lipenski, nine sisters: Judy Lipenski, Jane Hochshild, Bernie Tegnalia, Delores Acker, Estelle Schlote, Carol Lipenski, MaryAnn Whalen, Vickie Ekker, and Gerry Lipenski, and two brothers, Ralph and David, as well as other family members and friends.
Norbert spent 39.5 years at Telsmith as a production machinist. He was a lifelong Brewers fan who supported them in his early years by attending home games and later by watching all the televised games. He was an avid Sheepshead and Pinochle player and a member of numerous card clubs. He enjoyed playing in local Sheepshead tournaments throughout his life, especially those that involved a meal. Norbert loved to travel on cruise lines and abroad, with family or friends. After retiring, he especially enjoyed casino bus trips with Carol and their friends. Norbert had an affinity for food and could always be heard saying, “I don’t know when I’ll eat next.” His love of food was a focal point for family gatherings, casino bus trips, and their numerous cruises.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial gifts in Norbert’s honor. Norbert, a Navy veteran, had the privilege of visiting our nation’s Capital through the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight in 2025. It was an incredible experience for him, his daughter Colleen, who was his guardian for the flight, and the rest of the family who were there to welcome him home. Donations to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight (www.starsandstripeshonorflight.org) continue to help our Veterans see the memorials dedicated to their years of service and sacrifice. In addition, donations to PanCan - Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (www.pancan.org), which is the leading organization dedicated to advancing progress against pancreatic cancer for patients today and in the future, would be greatly appreciated.
Norbert’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers and extraordinary staff at Commonheart Home Health and Hospice, whose kindness, dignity, and loving care brought comfort to Norbert and his family during his final months.
