Nelda A. Heberer, 101, of West Bend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum.
She was born on August 17, 1913, in the town of Scott, the daughter of the late John and Alvina (Voigt) Sauter. She received her teaching degree from Sheboygan County Normal School in 1931 and taught in a one-room school in Beechwood for four years.
On September 14, 1935, she was united in marriage to Roland "Casey" Heberer at St. John's United Church of Christ in Beechwood. They made their home in New Fane until Casey's death on February 20, 1988. Nelda then moved to West Bend.
Nelda was a member St. John Lutheran Church in New Fane and the Ladies Guild. She was a volunteer at Cedar Lake Health Care Center and loved to play cards and travel. She was known to spend her Saturdays in the strawberry patch (Strawberry Girl) and Sunday at or watching the Packers game!
