M.J. "Sonny" Dahman

Kewaskum

M.J. “Sonny” “Tiny” Dahman, age 83 years, of Kewaskum was called home to be with the Lord on May 20, 2025, at Compassion Heights in Beechwood.

Sonny was born on October 24, 1941, in Prairie du Chien to Wilford and Virginia Dahman (Kavon). He was united in marriage to Judy Marie Konicek on June 6, 1964, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien.

Sonny graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1959. He worked his entire career at Gehl Company in West Bend until he retired in 2006. Other jobs Sonny had over the years were bus driver, rural route mail career, and fiber optic installer.

Sonny was an avid hunter of all types of woodland animals, and he won state awards in trap shooting. Sonny rode many winter trails around Wisconsin on his snowmobile. He traveled to Montana when he was 53 years old where he met some of his cousins for the first time.

Those Sonny leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 60 years, Judy; daughter, Renee (Christopher Fischer) Dahman; special cousins, Jerry Kavon, Ken Kavon, Renee Kavon, George Blum, and Betty Clement; and canine companion, Snickers. He is further survived by the Gehl guys, other relatives, and many friends.

In addition to his parents and numerous aunts and uncles, Sonny was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Dahman; sister-in-law, Jean (Bill) Smith; special cousins, Mary Lou Kavon and Roger Clement; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Evelyn Ebersold and Roy Ebersold; Evelyn’s former husband, Clarence Konicek; and canine companion, Lady.

SERVICE: A Memorial Mass in remembrance of Sonny will take place on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church (406 E Main St, Campbellsport, WI 53010) with Father Mark Jones officiating.

Inurnment will be at Lutheran Memorial Park in Kewaskum immediately following Mass.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Compassion Heights in Beechwood (especially Danielle; and the house cats - Tangelo and Briella), Froedtert West Bend Hospital-Hematology, and Preceptor Hospice for their care and compassion. A special thank you also goes out to Russ Herriges for his guidance and expertise on home maintenance, landscaping, and all his “Mr. Fix-It” talents he provided the Dahman family with over the years.
