Michael “Mike” R. Obermeier, age 70, of West Bend, passed away on March 27, 2024.
Born on October 31, 1953 in Madison, Mike was the oldest child of Romaine and Verlene (Cantrell) Obermeier. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary (Gadow) Obermeier, on May 22, 1981.
Mike received his Undergraduate degree from Marquette University and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army Infantry. During his time in the service he successfully completed the Airborne and Ranger courses at Fort Benning, Georgia, and was stationed at Fort Ord in California. He was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant after 4 years of service in May 1979. Mike then went on to receive his MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Mike embraced a life filled with compassion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to supporting others. He poured his heart into guiding his children's sports teams, he was a proud business owner of an overhead crane company, and also offered his wisdom and support to friends and family navigating life's challenges.
Surviving Mike is his beloved wife Mary of 42 years; mother, Verlene; children, Christopher, Kathryn (Eric), and Jeanne; grandchildren, Mackenzie and Dylan; siblings, Dale, Jerome (Cathy), Steven (Jen), Carol and David; many other relatives and friends; and his loyal Beagle Louie.
He is preceded in death by his father, Romaine F. Obermeier.
VISITATION: Mike’s family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 521 Congress Dr., Newburg.
SERVICE: A Memorial Mass will follow the visitation at the church at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow.
In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Mike's memory with donations to Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg or the Xaverian Missionaries in Franklin, WI.
