Michael P. "Choppy" Grieger, age 59, of Richfield, passed away Thursday May 22, 2008 at SynergyHealth St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born on January 4, 1949 in Milwaukee to the late John "Jack" and Edith "Edie" (nee Farchmin) Grieger, and was a graduate of West Division High School in the class of 1967.

On September 24, 1983 Mike was united in marriage to Sandra Schmidt at Wellington Park Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. Together they made their home in Milwaukee until moving to Richfield in 1997.

Mike had been an employee at the former Wisconsin Color Press Company in Milwaukee.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, cards, pool, feeding the birds, and especially his dogs and cats.

Mike is survived by his wife, Sandy; a sister, Susan (Tom) Nikkinen of Milwaukee; a brother, John Grieger of Port Washington; his mother-in-law, Beverly Schmidt of Milwaukee; two sisters-in-law, Linda (Nick) Weber of Newburg, and Laura (John) Burant of Waukesha; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Richard Schmidt.

Funeral services in remembrance of Mike will be held on Saturday May 24th at 12:00 (noon) at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home, West Bend. Chaplin Russ Hurst will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of service.
