Obituary

Mary Ann F. Buckley (nee Lemcke), 84, of West Bend, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2023, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born on December 10, 1938, to the late Elroy and Anne (nee Ohmann) Lemcke in Milwaukee, WI. Mary Ann attended Cedarburg High School through Junior year but graduated from West Bend High School. On December 22, 1956, she was united in marriage to Francis “Pete” Buckley in Michigan.

She worked at Tecumseh Products in Grafton as an assembler for 26 years. Mary Ann then owned and operated a restaurant in Tomahawk called Chef’s Corner. She worked five years at Serigraph as an inspector, six years as a restaurant manager in Oxford, WI, and then worked part time at Subway in West Bend. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in West Bend and was on the Ladies Aid funeral committee, counting team, and the pew cleaning team.

Mary Ann enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, gardening, bird watching, going to the casino, playing sheepshead with her friends at the Senior Center, crocheting, and ice cream. Her strong faith and family commitment was evident throughout her life. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family during special milestone celebrations and any event that involved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those Mary Ann leaves behind to cherish her memory include her five children, Lyle (Ellyn) Buckley, Alan (Jackie) Buckley, Diane Buckley, Cheryl (Daniel) Rudolf, and Jeff Buckley; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; her dachshund, Precious; two sisters, Debra Pittman and Cheri (Brad) Marquardt; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Francis “Pete” Buckley; great-grandson, Cody Dorzok; two sisters, Joyce Zoelmierski and Lois Lemcke; and six brothers-in-law, Al Zoelmierski, Daryl Pittman, Dallas “Ronny” Buckley, Pat Buckley, Rudy Buckley, and Jimmy Buckley.

Her family extends heartfelt thanks for the hospice care she received from Kim, Katie and Brittany, who loved and cared for Mary Ann, and the entire Horizon Home Care & Hospice team for their services over the past nine months.
