Kewaskum

Mary L. Castro (nee Deleon), cherished matriarch and a friend to all who crossed her path, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025 with her family by her side. She was 84 and lived in Kewaskum, WI.

Mary’s love for Filipino cuisine was legendary. Her lumpia, perfectly rolled and fried to golden perfection, became a staple at family gatherings and community events. She took pride in sharing the flavors of her heritage, delighting loved ones with dishes like pancit and adobo. Her kitchen was a haven where stories were exchanged, laughter was shared, and second helpings were always encouraged. Her home was a place of warmth and belonging. Mary believed that food was love, and she expressed that love generously through every meal she prepared and served.

Mary’s greatest joy was her family. As a devoted mother and grandmother, she was the heart and soul of her family. Her unwavering love and support shaped the lives of her children and grandchildren, leaving them with countless cherished memories and traditions.

Mary will be dearly missed by her family and the many lives she touched. She is survived by her children Raymond (Alma), Angelito, Christopher, Gina, Vicki, Roberto, Joy (Travis). She leaves behind grandchildren Drew, Hailey (Zachery), Kendrick, Nile, Ashley, Anthony, Julia, Madelyn, Carson, Sofia, great grandchildren Hudson and Sawyer, and siblings Kyle and Domingo Jr.

Mary’s legacy of love, hospitality, and culinary artistry—especially her unforgettable lumpia—will live on in the hearts of those she held dear. May she rest in peace.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by former spouse Florizel and brother Ulysses.
