Marion R. Merwin, 95, of Kewaskum, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014, at Cedar Lake Health Care Center in the town of West Bend.
She was born on January 3, 1919, in Hamilton, Montana, the daughter of the late Ernest and Gena (Johnson) Ruesch, and on February 14, 1945, she was united in marriage to Arvin Merwin at Peace Evangelical Church in Medford. Arvin preceded Marion in death on October 6, 1991.
Marion was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum, the Women's Guild and the Prayer Shawl Ministry.
She will fondly be remembered for the enjoyment she received from reading, gardening with her husband and especially for her apple pies and potato salad. Marion will be deeply missed by her family and by all who knew her.
Those Marion leaves behind to cherish her memory include four children, Kenneth (Barbara) Merwin of Ecuador, Dean (Vicky) Merwin of Brown Deer, Joan (Harry) Dacko of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Brian Merwin (Marcy Wichman) of Wauwatosa; five grandchildren, Jennie (Scott) Vertanen, Evan (Debbie) Merwin, Andrea (Curran) Burns, Sara Merwin and Jayden Merwin; five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Sully, Sawyer, Bryce, Devin and an expected great-grandchild, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Marion was preceded in death by a son, Curtis; two brothers, Lloyd (Mae) Ruesch and Warren (Margaret) Ruesch and a sister, Frances (Harold) Merwin.
Funeral services for Marion were held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum. Rev. Eric Kirkegaard officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.
The Merwin family greeted relatives and friends at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.
Memorials to Cedar Community Foundation Inc. are appreciated.
The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum was entrusted with Marion's arrangements.
