Lonna Jean Karnitz (nee Schladweiler), age 78 years, of Newburg was called home to be with the Lord on July 22, 2026, at Froedtert West Bend Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Lonna was born on December 3, 1947, in Sheboygan to Aloys and Naomi Schladweiler (nee Le Fever). She was united in marriage to Frederick “Fritz” Karnitz on October 6, 2001, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Lonna graduated from Random Lake High Schol in 1966. She loved fishing, gardening, golfing, working out, and traveling (Costa Rica and Alaska were her favorite trips). Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Those Lonna leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Fritz; her son, Ryan Kohn; step-children, Kassy (Richard) Loberger and Kyle (Jolene) Karnitz; five grandchildren, Kieara, Krozby, Kashtyn, Jesse, and Paige; step-grandchildren, Lucas, Liam, Lillian, Marcus, and Wade; great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Bjorn. She is further survived by her brother, Randy (Debbie) Schladweiler; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Lonna was preceded in death by her daughter, Tonya Lee Kirmse.

A private family service will be held.
