Lois (Aspenleiter) Stefanich, age 72 years, was called to eternal rest on April 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Lois was born on July 18, 1952, to Paul and Doris (Bagnall) Aspenleiter. Lois grew up in Milwaukee, WI with her three siblings, Mary, John, and Jean. She attended Pius XI High school, where she met the love of her life, Donald Stefanich. After high school, Lois studied to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Lois and Don were married on November 4, 1973. They had two children, Jennifer and Jeffrey. Lois and Don lovingly raised their family in Silver Creek, WI, where they remained happily married until Don’s death in 2021.
Lois enjoyed serving others as a nurse, especially in her nursing job at the Random Lake Clinic prior to her retirement. Her dedication to serving others included her family, providing non-stop loving care to her beloved husband Don at the end of his life.
Lois loved a good rummage sale and finding deals while shopping. She would use those ‘treasures’ to decorate her cozy home or the cabin up north. Lois enjoyed playing cards, specifically 21, and loved planting flowers. She was a proud member of the Lois Club, often bragging that she was one of the younger members. Most of all, Lois loved her family and her grandchildren. Lois doted on each of her four grandkids: Kinsey and Nolan Delwiche, and Alivia and Jeffrey Stefanich. Nothing was more important to her than family.
Lois leaves behind her daughter Jennifer and son-in-law Troy Delwiche; son Jeff Stefanich and Sarah Kosloski; grandchildren; sisters Mary Flister and Jean (Tim Roliff) Aspenleiter; brother John (Barbara) Aspenleiter; sister-in-law Mary Ann Brylow; brothers-in-law Allen (Dawn) and Greg (Mary) Stefanich. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her cherished husband, her parents, her in-laws, Albert and Monica (Fitzpatrick) Stefanich, and her brother and sister-in-law, David and Dolly Stefanich.
The family would like to thank the staff at Gables on the Pond, Random Lake, for their compassionate care of mom. We know how much you cared for mom, treating her with dignity and respect. Before moving to Gables, Lois was cared for in her home by Chris and Melissa and attended The Gathering Place in Sheboygan Falls. We thank you for helping the family keep her safely at home for as long as possible. We also thank the staff at Lily Hospice for their care in the last few weeks of mom’s life.
We want to highlight and sincerely thank Jean Aspenleiter for her never-ending care of her sister. Jean has been at her sister Lois’s side until her last moments. Jean drove up from Milwaukee and Oconomowoc at least weekly for years to help her sister, providing invaluable support to Jennifer and Jeffrey. We never took it for granted.
We also thank Uncle Greg Stefanich, Uncle John Aspenleiter, Verna Leider, and Sharon and Bill Eischen – we thank you for your visits and many other ways you showed your love and provided your support to her and to us.
To everyone who took time to visit mom – thank you – it meant the world to Jennifer and Jeff to have people remember her.
An open house celebration of Lois’s life will be held at the Silver Creek Fire Department Hall on Sunday, June 1st starting at 1pm. The family will share memories beginning at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that a donation be made in Lois’s name to: The Gathering Place & Memory Matters (memorymattersmost.com) or The Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
