Leslie “Les” Schwartz, age 88 years, of Lomira was called home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2026, at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Les was born on November 14, 1937, in Fond du Lac to Herman and Agnes Schwartz (nee Nehring). He was united in marriage to Marlene Daun on May 2, 1987, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac.
Les attended Lomira High School. He took over the family farm at age 17, after the passing of his father in 1954. Les worked on the farm until 1989. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, dartball, bowling, and playing Sheepshead. Most of all he enjoyed time with his grandchildren. Les was a six-time cancer survivor.
Those Les leaves behind to cherish his memory include children, Nathan Schwartz of Milwaukee and Kim (Brian) Thor of Manitowoc; grandchildren, Elliot and Adrian Thor; sister, Doris (Joe) Priesgen of Lomira; and brother-in-law, Gene (Patty) Daun of Pewaukee. He is further survived by dear cousin, Shirley Schultz; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Les was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Schwartz on June 23, 2025; and parents, Herman and Agnes Schwartz.
VISITATION: Les’ family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church (Halfway Church), N9910 Hwy 175 Lomira, WI 53048.
SERVICE: A Funeral Service in remembrance of Les will take place at 12:00 Noon on Monday at Church with Pastor Matthew Kuske officiating. A graveside service and burial be at the church cemetery immediately following the church service.
Memorials in Les’ name can be directed to the St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church (Halfway Church).
