Obituary

Keith Frederick Heidtke of West Bend, Wisconsin, passed away on July 3, 2026, at the age of 79, at Kathy Hospice after a short illness.

Keith was born on August 2, 1946, to Frederick and Janet (nee Hill) Heidtke. Keith was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jackson, WI, where he was baptized and confirmed in the Christian Faith. He married Kandee Wheeler on June 26, 1971. They celebrated 55 years of marriage.

Keith is survived by his wife, Kandee; his siblings, Rev. Gail Heidtke, Susan Heidtke, and Joel (Wendy) Heidtke. He is further survived by his brother-in-law, George Wheeler, and his nieces and nephews, Wendy (Dr. Michael) Martinez, Andrew (Elizabeth) Heidtke, Beth (Jason) Boche, and Maya (Mike) Myszka. He will be missed by his 6 grandnephews and grandnieces, his aunt, Mary Heidtke Wilson, close cousins in the Milwaukee area, Texas and Arizona, his dear church family, good neighbors both in West Bend and Jackson and many friends.

Keith graduated from West Bend High School in 1964. In 1966, Keith was drafted and proudly served in the US Army, earning the rank of SP5. He was a proud veteran and was a member of the Jackson American Legion post and St. John’s Veterans Group. Keith farmed the Heidtke family farm in Jackson all his life. He worked throughout the years at Mallard Coach, Boehlke Bottled Gas, Rosco, National Glass and West Bend Glass. He served in many capacities at St. John’s Lutheran Church, with determination and joy.

Keith loved the land, his wife and family, his church and most of all, Jesus Christ.

VISITATION: Keith’s family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church (2881 Division Road, Jackson, WI).

MEMORIAL SERVICE: A memorial service will take place following visitation at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, with Reverend Paul Mittermaier officiating. Military Honors to follow in Church Cemetery.

Memorials to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jackson are appreciated.

Keith was a hard worker, a great guy and will be missed.
