John R. Schladensky, 72, of West Bend, passed away Friday, March 11, 2011 at Columbia St. Mary's Ozaukee Hospital Horizon Hospice.

He was born May 15, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Paul Joseph and Florie Mae Schladensky. After graduating from high school, John enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving for 15 years. He was then employed at Miller Brewing for 23 years. After his retirement, John continued to work as a handyman.

He is survived by three children, Paul Schladensky of Boise, ID, Jodi (Pat) Brown of West Bend, and John (Andrea) Schladensky of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren, Paulette Schladensky, David (fiancAC.e Cindy) Koenig, Christopher (fiancAC.e Jessica) Koenig, Dylan Schladensky, and Summer Schladensky; three sisters, Floss (Paul) Weaver of Delaware, Pauline Nauss of Pennsylvania, and Helen Wilson of Utah; his long-time companion, Lucille Hilmis of Milwaukee, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

A visitation in remembrance of John will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Burial will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.
