John L. Hilbert, 65, of Mayville, passed away on June 14, 2025, at his home.
John Hilbert entered the world on December 17, 1959, born to Francis and Margaret (née Mayer) Hilbert, who have since passed. He was a graduate of Hustisford High School's class of 1978, John soon found himself managing distribution for the Daily Citizen Newspaper in Beaver Dam. In 1980, he answered the call to serve in the Air Force, dedicating four years as a skilled motor pool mechanic. After his military service, he embarked on a new path at MEC in Mayville, where he operated punch presses with precision. Outside of work, John took great pride in cultivating his beloved green peppers and had a passion for crafting intricate model cars and model space ships.
