Jerome “Jerry” Hansen April 17, 1939 – October 24, 2025

Jerome “Jerry” Hansen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025 at the age of 86.

Jerry was born on April 17, 1939, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Willam and Loraine (nee Schober). He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force at Carswell Air Force Base during the 1960s where he met his wife and gained his lasting interest in electronics and early computing.

A man with a sharp mind and competitive spirit, Jerry was known for his love of the game—whether on the golf course, at the bowling alley, or around the card table. During his life, Jerry bowled a perfect 300, drained a hole-in-one, and never turned down a good game of Sheepshead or Rummy—especially if there was a brandy Old Fashioned involved.

At home, Jerry’s heart had room for both his loved ones and the many dogs he welcomed into his life. His lifelong devotion to rescuing and caring for animals—particularly those with special needs—brought joy to his home and comfort to countless furry companions who might otherwise have been overlooked. His caring spirit gave these animals a second chance at life, and in return, they filled his days with unconditional love.

He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 60 years, Karen; his daughters, Kimberly Biersack (Kevin) and Kelly Burg (Craig); his cherished grandson, Nicholas Biersack; and his great-granddaughter, Piper. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Alfa Rowe (Rick) as well as nephews, Todd & Randy Hansen, and Brian & Kevin Rowe. Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Bobby” Hansen (Sandy), and his granddaughter, Samantha Biersack.

Jerry’s legacy of humor, compassion and occasionally “grumpiness” will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that any donations be made to the Washington County Humane Society, in honor of Jerry’s love for animals.

Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Jerry’s arrangements. Additional information and guest book can be found at www.myrhum-patten.com.
