Jerome A. "Jerry" Nigh

May 13, 1937 — December 21, 2025

Town of Auburn

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jerome A. Nigh, who was called home to the Lord on Sunday, December 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 13, 1937, he was the son of Elmer and Evaline (Schmidt) Nigh.

Jerry graduated from Kewaskum High School and went on to complete the farm short course at UW–Madison on scholarship. He later earned an associate degree in business through Regal Ware, where he worked until his retirement in 1999. In addition to his work at Regal Ware, Jerry earned his real estate license in 1966 and enjoyed a long career with several real estate groups, most recently First Weber.

Jerry proudly served in the Army National Guard and was called into active service during the Berlin Crisis. He was a gifted athlete who played football, basketball, and baseball, and he had a lifelong love of the outdoors. He took great pride in caring for his yard and found peace in keeping it beautiful. His favorite hobby was woodworking, a craft at which he excelled, creating wonderful gifts for his family. He would never turn down a game of sheepshead. Above all, Jerry’s greatest priority was his love of God and providing for his family.

Jerry married his loving wife, Beverly (née Ruth), on November 28, 1959. Those Jerry leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 66 years, Beverly; his children: Christine (Clifford) Sprung, Robert (Deb) Nigh, and William (Brittany) Nigh. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Jessica (Mark) Lemanczyk, Monica (Dan) Schaefer, Steven (Samantha) Sprung, Eric (Courtney) Nigh, and Blake Nigh; and by his great‑grandchildren: Lukas Schaefer, Emily, Matthew and James Lemanczyk, Cecelia, Grant and Caleb Sprung. He is also survived by his brother David Nigh; sisters‑in‑law Laura Nigh and Florence Marks; brother‑in‑law Dale Timmler; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Gregor (Anna) Nigh, Alban (Dorothy) Nigh, Marion (Jerry) Darmody, Margaret (Willard) Blanke, Agnes (Virgil) Bird, Leo (Esther) Nigh, infant sister Mary, Vincent (Elvira) Nigh, Lawrence Nigh, and Barbara Timmler; as well as sister‑in‑law and brothers‑in‑law Carolyn (Donald) Renner, Earl Marks, and William Ruth.

The Nigh family would like to thank the team of caring doctors and nurses at the Neurological ICU at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa for their compassion and support.
