Visitation
Mass
Jane Siegel, 88, of Kewaskum, entered into eternal life on March 23, 2026.
Jane was born on January 8, 1938 in Neenah, Wisconsin and she spent her childhood there. At St. Mary’s High School, Jane was a gifted trumpet player, and this led her to meet the love of her life – Norbert Siegel. They were married on August 2, 1958 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Norbert and Jane cherished each other and celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary last year.
Jane and Norbert lived their faith in God each day. They were a model of Christian life to their five children, Lynn (Tom) Felhofer, Jim (Kathy) Siegel, Julie (Scott) Smaglick, Tom (Melanie) Siegel, and David (Jenny) Siegel. Her children would tell you that Jane was an awesome mom.
Jane loved to surround herself with beautiful things. She decorated her home with colorful bird houses, crystal figurines, lovely ceramics, self-made flower arrangements, and exceptional seasonal décor. The outside of her house was as lovely as the inside. Nothing made Jane happier than planting and caring for her flower garden every summer. In spring she’d say “I can’t wait to get my hands in the dirt”. Her gift for presenting beautiful items extended to career in selling fine jewelry at JC Penney and arranging greeting cards for Hallmark.
She was a talented seamstress, making graduation and homecoming gowns for Julie and Lynn, plus play and Halloween costumes (Dracula for Dave!). She crocheted afghans for many people including all of her grandchildren.
Jane also liked to make puzzles and play games – cards with Messmer friends, and daily Rumikub with anyone who was willing to be beaten by her. She was an avid Brewers and Packers fan.
She showed her compassion outside the home by volunteering to hold babies at St. Joseph Hospital, reading with children at Holy Trinity School, and as a member of the Kewaskum Women’s Club.
Jane was the proud Gramma of Simon (Jena) Felhofer, Aaron Felhofer (Kristen Chalmers), Angie (Christian) Kreuter, Isaac Siegel, Jonathan Smaglick, Karissa Smaglick (John Mak), Avi Siegel, Haven Siegel, and Great-Gramma to Emersyn, Colin, and Madeline Felhofer.
It gives our family joy to know that she was welcomed in heaven by her son Tom, parents Warren and Esther, siblings Estelle and Gerald (Butch), and cousin Joe and his wife Pat.
Jane and Norbert would love to share with everyone the two themes for their marriage – first to love Jesus, and second the simple act of holding hands with each other.
She left us in love and faith to support each other, as she supported us.
In lieu of sympathy flowers, Jane’s family hopes that you will plant a flower in your home garden, or put a flower on your windowsill, so that when it blooms you will remember her with a smile.
We will commend Jane to God at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 305 Main Street in Kewaskum, on Friday, March 27. Visitation at 11:00, Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00, followed by lunch onsite.
The Myrhum – Patten Funeral & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Jane’s arrangements. Additional information and guest book may be found at www.myrhum-patten.com.
