Gerd Sterr of Fond du Lac passed away peacefully at St. Agnes Hospital on July 30, 2026.
Born on April 2, 1964, in Waupun, Wisconsin, son of the late Roman and Hildegard Sterr. Gerd grew up on a farm, where he developed the strong work ethic that stayed with him throughout his life. He was a longtime employee of Ledgeview Precast Concrete and took pride in owning and managing rental properties. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Lomira and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 270.
Gerd enjoyed playing cards, traveling with his wife, Patti, and sharing a good laugh with family and friends. He was a good neighbor who was always willing to help and was known for being handy with tools.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patti; his daughters, Theresa (Brandon) Loomer, Nicole Oberdas, Jessica (Greg) Langston, and Jennifer (Josh) Zweifel; many grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; his sisters, Gerianne (Leslie) Weyer of Brownsville and Ann (Harold Jr.) Reuter of Lomira; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Hildegard Sterr; his siblings, Louise A. (“Tudy”) Schwartz, Roman Sterr Jr., and Kenneth Sterr; and his granddaughter, Kalley Abrahamson-Groeschl.
VISITATION: The family will greet relatives and friends at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 350 Main St., Lomira, on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
SERVICE: A Mass of Christian Burial in remembrance of Gerd will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (653 Milwaukee St.) on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 12:15 p.m. with Rev. Nathaniel Miniatt officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lomira.

In lieu of flowers, memorials made in Gerd’s name may be made to American Legion Trier-Puddy Post 75 of Fond du Lac.
