Obituary

Gerald E. “Runty” Marx, age 77 years, of Kewaskum was called home to be with the Lord on August 11, 2026.

Jerry was born on May 12, 1949, to Joseph and Gertrude Marx (nee Theusch). He was united in marriage to Patricia A. “Patty” Lewandowski on April 15, 1972, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Michael.

Jerry attended St. Michael Parochial School and graduated from Kewaskum High School in 1967. He was drafted in the United States Army and served in Vietnam. Jerry was honorably discharged in 1971. He worked at Honeck Chevrolet in Kewaskum and retired from Bob Fish GMC in West Bend.

Jerry enjoyed playing softball for Amerahn, Horn’s Valley Inn, and Beechwood Cheese Factory. He also liked playing Sheepshead with his Tuesday group. When he had time, he also enjoyed fishing, especially trips to Canada. Jerry also loved going on yearly trips to Jamaica with his family.

Those Jerry leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 54 years, Patty; two sons, Kim (Danielle) Marx and James (Rhonda) Marx; three grandchildren, Austin Maurer, Devin Carver, and Addison Marx; brother, Robert “Bob” Marx; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann (DuWayne) Kuenzi, June Marx (Keith), and Jane Marx. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel “Jocko” Marx and Gary “Groucho” Marx; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Janet Lewandowski (nee Nowak).

VISITATION: Jerry’s family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, in St. Michael - 8883 Forest View Rd – Kewaskum, WI 53040.

SERVICE: A Memorial Mass in remembrance of Jerry will take place at 5:00 p.m. following the visitation with Father Mark Jones officiating.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of St Agnes Hospital of Fond du Lac. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department, Fond du Lac and Campbellsport Rescue teams, for their care and compassion.
