Gary F. (Gerhart) Peters of West Bend passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2026 at his home.

Gary was born on September 19, 1947 in West Bend to the late Jerome and Bernice Peters (nee Marquardt). He graduated in 1966 from Kewaskum High School. Gary served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970. He spent time in Vietnam and the Philippines. Gary married Susan Theisen on August 5, 1972.

He worked for 39 years as a machinist at Johnson Centrifugal in Saukville. In his spare time, he did woodworking and his family benefited from many pieces over the years. He also loved riding his motorcycle. Camping and traveling were also highlights in his life. In 2019 he had the privilege of going on the Stars and Stripes honor flight with his son Doug. He also got to take his dream vacation to Alaska last year. After retirement, he spent time building homes at Habitat for Humanity in Washington County and later worked at the Restore. He enjoyed his time at the River Shores Y working out and making new friends.

Those left to remember him are his wife, Susan; children, Doug (Melissa) Peters and Jeremy (Debbie) Peters; grandchildren, Samuel (Rose Loos-Austin) Peters, Natalie (Joey McGraw) Peters, Owen Peters, and Anola Peters; two sisters, Judy (John) Markestad and Donna (Roger) Kreis; brother, Brian (Dawn) Peters; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Peters, Barbara Peters, and Nancy Boden; brothers-in-law, Peter (Luanne) Theisen, John (Michele) Theisen.

In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his brothers, David Peters, Kenneth Peters, and Steven Peters; special brother-in-law, Mark Boden.

MEMORIAL MASS: A Memorial Mass for Gary will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church (415 Roosevelt Drive, West Bend, WI) with Father Brady Gagne officiating the Mass. Burial will take place following Mass.
