Felix Fernando Cardenas, age 78 years, of Lomira was called home to be with the Lord and his wife on Dec. 22, 2025.
Felix was born on July 14, 1947, in Taos, NM, to Santiago & Corina (Maestas) Cardenas. Felix married Carlene Freitag on November 16, 1969, at United Methodist Church in Mayville, WI.
Felix grew up in Taos, attended Taos Elementary School, and left home at an early age, made his way to Clam Lake, WI, and joined the Job Corps, then to Mahnomen, MN, after briefly coming to Beaver Dam, WI, to work in the canning factory, and meet his future wife, Carlene, in Mayville, WI.
Felix retired from Metalcraft of Mayville as a spot-welder where he worked for 30 years. He had a talent with his woodwork and painting, made some wonderful dishes to eat, and enjoyed helping out his neighbors and friends.
Those Felix leaves behind to cherish his memory include his sons, Richard and Jim, granddaughter, Alicia, and great-granddaughter, Nynaeve. Plus his two cats, Tiger and Snuggles. He is also survived by his sisters, Rosie (Richard) Rivera and Priscilla Cardenas, and his brother Miguel. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Felix was preceded in death by his sisters Terry Collins, Sennie Valerio, and Jane Anderson, and brothers Teodoro and Moises.
