Obituary

DOUGLAS GEORGE SCHEEL

October 29, 1953 - October 11, 2026

The family of Douglas Scheel announces his passing on October 11th, following a battle with bile duct cancer. He is now with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Doug was born and raised on a dairy farm in Marshall, Wi. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1971. After graduating from High School, he attended Madison Area Technical College, (MATC) graduating in 1973 with a two year associate degree in accounting. After working within the Madison area for many years, Doug and his wife Kathy moved to Mount Vernon, Washington so Kathy could be closer to her children and grandchildren.

Doug loved vocal and big band music and rooting for Wisconsin Badger athletics. He was compassionate, quick-witted, had a sharp sense of humor, and a total inability to say no.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, George and Alice (Behling) Scheel. He is survived by his wife, and BFF, Kathy, children Katie (Ben Woodward) and Christian, grandchildren, Barbara, RaeLynn, and William. Brothers Dean (Coyla) of Kewaskum, Wi., David (wife, Dawn -Deceased) and Darryl of Marshall. Also, many nieces and nephews living in Wisconsin.

No service is planned at this time. The family extends special thanks to Dr. Kiarash Kojouri, Pastor Mike Borgwardt, and his co-workers and friends at Skagit Valley College.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Beautiful Lutheran Church in Everett, Washington; Risen Savior Lutheran Church in McFarland, Wisconsin; or your local humane society.
