Obituary

Doraine Jean Priest, 94, of Brownsville, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.

She was born on May 26, 1932, in Oakfield the daughter of the late Art and Lydia (nee Raklau) Weber. A graduate of Lomira High School. United in marriage to Robert "Bob" Priest on May 9, 1953, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brownsville, they shared 62 years of marriage, creating a home filled with care and warmth. Throughout her life, Doraine was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brownsville, later joining St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Markesan during their time at Little Green Lake, before returning to St. Paul’s upon moving back to the Brownsville area. Her faith was a pillar of strength and comfort that supported her journey.

Doraine’s life was one marked by deep family bonds and a passionate embrace of the arts. As a loving mother, Doraine devoted herself to caring for her two daughters, Susan and Peggy, nurturing their growth. While at home with the children she was a self taught artist who painted many paintings for family and friends. She expressed her love through her painting, crafting countless beautiful works that brought joy to family and friends. Her art was a reflection of her gentle soul and her desire to enrich the lives around her. Beyond painting, she enjoyed bowling, golfing, and traveling — activities that highlighted her lively spirit and zest for life. Doraine treasured the moments spent with family and friends, particularly those precious times gathered at Little Green Lake, where laughter and connection filled the air, creating memories to be held forever in the hearts of those who knew her.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Susan (Larry) Jasman of Odgensburg and Peggy (Daniel) Henke of Brownsville; her grandchildren, Brad (Stacy) Jasman of Rosholt and Kayla (Aaron) Simmons of Fall Creek; and her great-grandsons, Reid and Rhett Simmons. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, James (Janice) Priest of Oconomowoc, along with numerous other relatives and friends whose lives she touched deeply.

Doraine was preceded in death by her devoted husband Bob, who was her partner and soulmate for over six decades, as well as both of her parents and her dear sister, Arlene Heimerl.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made out to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brownsville or to the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
