Diane Carol Nelson (nee Miller, formerly Mentch), age 93 years, of West Bend was called home to be with the Lord on May 8, 2026, at Froedtert West Bend Hospital.
Diane was born on December 6, 1932, in Milwaukee to George and Gertrude Miller (nee Niedercorn). She was united in marriage to Robert J. Nelson in 1980. Robert passed away on July 26, 2006.
Diane graduated from Shorewood High School in 1950. She worked in the Teller Operations Office at the Bank of Elmwood in Racine for 23 years. Diane loved music, especially playing her organ and singing in the choir. Most of all she loved raising her children and spending time with family and friends. Diane always made friends easily, no matter where she was.
Those Diane leaves behind to cherish her memory include son, John (Linda) Mentch; daughter-in-law, Sharon Mentch; son-in-law, Scott (Kathy) Pitchford; grandchildren, Michelle Pitchford, and Brian (Chris), Kevin (Becky), Zachary (Kim), and Jacob (Mandy) Mentch; 9 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her first husband, Aaron Mentch; second husband, Robert Nelson; son, Mark Mentch; daughter, Wendy Pitchford; sister, Leora (Charles) Coovert; and brother, Jerome Miller.
VISITATION: Diane’s family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service – 1315 W Washington St. – West Bend, WI 53095.
SERVICE: A Memorial Service in remembrance of Diane will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Jonathan Vierkant officiating. Inurnment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida at a later date.
Memorials in Diane’s name can be directed to the American Cancer Society.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at New Perspective Senior Living and Froedtert West Bend Hospital for their care and compassion.
