Dennis James Stockhausen, age 71, of West Bend, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Froedtert West Bend Hospital.

Dennis was born on April 20, 1955, to the late Lawrence and Vivian(Fischer) Stockhausen. He attended Oak Knoll School until age 19 when he then became an employee/client of The Threshold, Inc. for the next 52years. Dennis spent many years (1974-2010) doing piecework for local companies at the organization’s Rolfs Avenue building. For the last 16years, Dennis attended The Threshold’s Senior Day Services at the building on W. Washington Street that bears his name.

In 1988-1990, Dennis participated in the Special Olympics in track and field, and throughout his life he enjoyed watching sports, especially the Brewers and the Packers. His favorite spectator sport was golf. If there was a golf tournament on TV, that is what Dennis would be watching. He also enjoyed books and was often found paging through books and magazines, especially those involving sports, celebrities, and highlights of the year.

His siblings will deeply miss Dennis: David Stockhausen, Linda(Andy) Gehring, Curtis (Dale) Stockhausen, Annette Stockhausen, and Terry (Janet) Stockhausen; as well as by his nieces and nephews: Dominic and Spring Gehring, Alex (Jen) Kain, Liz (B.J.) Dreher, Nate (Loren)Stockhausen, Erinn Stockhausen and Carolyn (Thomas) Radke; as well as by his great-nieces Willa and Charlotte and great-nephew, Waylon. Dennis is also survived by his uncle, Merlin Stockhausen, and aunt, Janet Stockhausen.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Vivian, aunts and uncles, and a niece, Rebecca Stockhausen.

Dennis was presented with many challenges, but despite those challenges, he was always good-natured. His life was enriched over the years by many special, caring people. A special thank you to the staff of The Threshold and Senior Day Services, his caregivers, and the health care personnel who worked with Dennis. You are greatly appreciated!

Dennis was a lifetime member of Holy Angels Parish. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Dennis at Holy Angels Church, 138 N. 8th Ave., West Bend, on Saturday, September 26 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will take place from10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Angels Cemetery on Monday, September 28 at 10:00 a.m.
